One of my new projects I managed this year was Restyle. This was something new for me as this project had a strong message to deliver in all the activity which was undertaken. This project was about educating the public about the benefits of opshops in our community. I came up with the concept of teaming up with 10 local bloggers who were set a challenge to buy nothing new for 30 days and document their daily outfits on their blogs.
I arranged a super fun photoshoot with the bloggers with leading Perth photographer Penny Lane (also a close friend!) and the campaign images were used on posters, postcards and a magazine I created for the show! The girls looked so amazing! You might spot Sharon from Sass & Spice looking smoking who was one of the 10 bloggers who took part in the challenge!
The project ended with a fashion show during the Festival week celebrating the bloggers favourite outfits. The show also featured 10 lovely charity workers who were styled in opshop threads and walked the runway. The initiative was a massive hit and one of my favourite projects I have ever managed. I'm super keen to grow the concept and make it bigger and better and involve more bloggers next year (eeeep yep already plotting ideas for 2013!)
Here are some iphone pics I took throughout the project. I didn't get many of the actual show as I was a wee busy calling the show! haha! Next post I'll share my other projects!

scheduled whirlwind
I'm sure every parent thinks this when you return to work but OMG there is so much organising and scheduling to be had so you can make it to the office by 8am....There were a few times when I found myself packing Tallulah's bag at midnight and sure enough the next day we got an SMS to say I had forgotten to put in shoes, or pants or something essential! Haha I got better at it, promise! I must say having a committed amazing partner like Ross made this whole process so much easier. He is truly the most supportive and amazing partner in crime a girl could have. He went the extra mile when all the balls I was trying to juggle started to fall. Can't wait to marry that guy, he's a keeper and he's cute to boot!
Ross & I are also ridiculously lucky to have the most loveliest families in all the land. They looked after Tallulah this year, which not only saved us a whole bunch of money but meant Tallulah had the best time with her grandparents and aunty and cousins and we knew she was safe! They are swell and I can't even put into words how much it meant to us. One day I hope we repay the favour somehow!
Going back to work has cemented the fact that I love my job and my career is actually a massive part of who I am. I mean its hard work, there is pressure and I had to be away from my family with some days not even seeing their faces but I wouldn't change it for the world. Will I work with the Festival forever? Probably not, but at this moment in time I can say it still excites me to wake up and go to work and work a meaningful job which feeds my desire to be creative and thats important right?
p.s: Next post I'll share some of the events I project managed this year!

Oh hai! guess what? I'm back.....! Whilst I'm still working a couple of days at the Festival the crazy, insane, fabulous hours of hard work are over for another year which means I have a little more time to myself and for Renosslah! Yippee! I have so much to blog about- my events, work, the wedding, Lula! I'm a little excited things have calmed down....so keep a look out for some posts here and there from me ! Ahhh its nice to be back :)

Adios Hippos!
So I am taking some time out from blogging...though I guess thats kind of obvious from my lack of posting.... ha!
Between the kiddo, being back at work (my days increase next month eeeek!), planning a wedding and you know just hanging out with friends and loved ones I've become time poor and my little online life has been sadly been put on the back burner.
I really wanted to document the planning of our wedding but you know what, its a simple event with super cute things planned but I don't want to ruin the surprise for my guests and some of them read my blog! ha! Also I'm not feeling very inspired to write posts anymore. the blog was initially set up to capture Tallulah's life and now she is leaping and bounding around I'm just living life right beside her instead of officially documenting it. Strange I know! I might have a change of heart but at this very moment in time my plate is full. Happy but there is just not much room left! Sniff, sniff!
I'll still be reading everyones blogs, and pinning, instgram-ing & facebooking but the reality is this is goodbye for now! Thankyou for taking the time to read my blog and hopefully I will be back soon!

musical chairs
So apparently this is a pretty common drama when planning a wedding. The venues chairs are damn ugly. I'm positive its on purpose its so you'll have to hire chair covers from them! I hate those darn white chair covers. Soooo unattractive and your room ends up being a mass of white fabric with the table cloths and the white wedding dress. Urgh! I'm starting to feel a wee queasy! haha
Well, I'm sad to say our venue has hideous chairs and I'm usually like whatever no-one will notice but these bad boys are quite an eyesore! Its not really their fault as its not a fancy venue so I wasn't really expecting them to be pretty. I may have foolishly thought they might be cute, quirky or mis-match retro chairs. Nope, they are those gross school-chairs which may have been a green in their day but now are a nice dirty beige. Mmm delish!
So, my first DIY project will be trying to figure out a solution! Mum reckons we could whip up some colourful fabric covers (not to be mistaken for those white monstrosities!) on our sewing machines and so far this is looking like my best option! There is only 50 people coming so I think it may be do-able! My ideas have included stickers, cushions, paper flowers and ignoring them....haha
My favourite idea is the gingham one and I'm thinking of sewing a red heart to the back of each chair which I think would be pretty sweet! What do you think and do you have any amazing ideas?

bush bash
We are getting married down south at an old mill town called Donnelly River. It holds a special place in our hearts as Ross' family own one of the cottages there. We spent New Years there this year and it was so relaxing, fun and casual! We can't wait to have all our favourite people in on place and have some cheeky bevvies outside underneath the trees and stars!
The wedding on the Donnelly River website is pretty much the reason we are getting married (oh and because we love each too haha) its so beautiful and the vintage elements are just delightful! Our wedding will probably be a little more colourful and definately no white dress for me!
Some reasons we chose Donnelly River are that we love the idea of a holiday wedding, we can do as we please with the club house where our reception will be held (including BYO drinks, food, decorations everything!) and its really just a pretty great place to hang out with the kangaroos and emus!
Where did you get married?

first comes love
oh guess what? we're getting married this year at Christmas time....pretty darn exciting! Its going to be a casual soiree no white dress or bridesmaids or cheesy DJ but will be a holiday down south in the bush filled with homemade cakes, lifesized scrabble and handmade decorations! A wedding we have always wanted to be invited to! Can't wait to share my inspirations!

juggling act
oh its me! I know, I know, I've been a stranger....! There is so much going on at the moment between starting back at work (yippee!), an active toddler and life! I've only started back this week at work and so far so good! I'm sure its going to get helluva lot harder but at the moment its pretty darn great!
I kind of lost my blogging mojo but it may be back as I may or may not have a big event that needs planning later in the year and its definately worth blogging all my inspiration for it! More on that later!
Its nice to be back!

shut eye
we read an article about making the cot fun during the day...haha it was fun but didn't work!
oh woe is me! we are not getting any shut eye of late and its turning me into a zombie-mama. I am just oh-so tired! What is going on? I ask Tallulah this everyday but she just giggles! Before Christmas we were doing so well and we even had some sleep throughs which got me very excited but alas she has regressed and even worse she now refuses to sleep in her cot....what is this all about?
She insists on sleeping in our bed which SUCKS as she is a wriggler and these steamy summer nights are horrid as she likes to cuddle in. We have taken the next step and decided to move her into a toddler bed. We only assembled it last night and she slept 1/2 the night in there so maybe this is going to work for us....we will just wait and see! Please cross your fingers for us...

the opposite
The good part was spent down in Donnelly River with Ross' family at their holiday shack. It was super idyllic, we ate cheese and sipped pimms on the balcony whilst the kiddies played with the friendly kangaroos, emus and parrots. We got coffee from the general store, swam in the dam, played on the playground and pushed Tallulah around in her new trike. It was delightful and so relaxing!
Then on our return Ross and I spent the first two days of the new year in bed with gastritis...ew. And then we had to go to emergency (first time ever!) because Tallulah was jumping on my Mums bed and landed strange on her foot (on the bed not the floor...) and screamed so loud and then refused to walk! So off we went to PMH where they suspected it was broken and sent us home for 48 hours to monitor it. Tallulah was so cuddly and sat on the couch with me the whole of the next day and didn't crawl or walk. So not Tallulah. So we went back in for an x-ray and thankfully after 3 different people looked at the x-ray they told us it wasn't broken and she didn't need a cast. OMG so stressful and exhausting....
I am super thankful that this was our first experience at emergency. I am so thankful that our 'emergency' wasn't something involving blood, allergic reactions or something super serious. We have learnt a lot!
I am glad to report that Tallulah is back to her spirited self and walking and almost running all over the house! I'm trying to stop the bouncing and jumping on the bed/couch but she loves it! Crazy baby!
Ross and I joke that 2012 just has to get better now....geez I sure hope so! I hope everyone's new year was better than ours! haha

a tad tardy
pancakes!
My loot from Ross & Tallulah!
testing out her wheely bug!
loving her xylophone
made everyone put on fake finger moustache tattoos!
super cute gnome dress! Lentil (mums cat) gave Tallulah a nice xmas present a scratch on her cheek!
a trike!
my reindeer pops!
my amazing lampshade (called the Billion dollar view!) from my mama!
Hi! We're still here...! Happy new year everyone! I am little late writing about our Christmas and new years but better now than never right?! This Christmas was soooo super nice and relaxing! Its funny how having a wee human makes all these holidays and occasions just more joyous and fun, am I right?
Ross and I woke up on Christmas morning around 8am and patiently waited to Tallulah to wake up! She finally did around 9:30am- whose child is this? Its not my normal 7:30am waking child! Ross and I were thankful for our 30 minute sleep in haha!
We made some delicious mango, blueberry and white choc pancakes and then opened PRESENTS! Hip hooray! Man I love everything about presents, the giving, the receiving but maybe not so-much the buying haha!
Tallulah loved all the paper and her new toys and guess what her favourite present was? These $10 foam blocks that "santa" gave her! I mean what about the awesome tiger wheelie bug your mum and dad gave you? Nope did. not. care. HA kids!
We packed up the car and headed over to my mums for a seafood BBQ lunch which was soooo good! Mum got all fancy on us and served scallops wrapped in prosciutto and Ross and I voted it the stand out dish of the day! So good my mouth is watering now....
We got spoiled again and scored big! Ross got a pasta machine (yay!), I got an amazing lamp shade which I had been coveting for a while and Tallulah got her trike which thankfully she LOVES! Phew!
After some delicious choc mint tart (seriously my mum did such a good job!) and a nap we headed over to Ross' parents for dinner! He has a large family which is such a foreign thing to me as my family is super small (like me, my mum and my brother!) but its so nice to have grandmas, aunties, uncles, cousins & nieces! Its makes it very festive!
We got bombarded again with presents and were very happy with our loot! We dined on a traditional feast including ham, turkey, chicken, prawns and many yummy salads! I made these cute reindeer marshmallow pops which were a hit!
We crashed into bed around 10pm with fully bellies, a boot full of new shiny things and good memories! Geez I love Christmas!
